Message from the Chair 22 May 2020

Firstly, I hope this finds you safe and well.

The committee has met (via email) and decided the following.  There will be no concert or planned activity for June and, with regret, no summer party this year.  It is unlikely too, that we shall be able to meet as a full orchestra in September but we will review the situation in July once we have more information.

If we are unable to go ahead with rehearsals for the December concert as planned we would like to arrange some playing of small groups next term, subject to sticking within the Government guidelines on social distancing, including the suggested distancing for wind and brass players of 3-5 metres.  It would be good too, to involve Roselise in some way.  This is perhaps a chance to carry out detailed work with small groups of instruments. However such possibilities are a long way off and those over 70 may not be ‘released’ until 2021, so we cannot firm up on anything yet.

I hope you are all managing to keep playing and below is a link which I think you will find calming and rather beautiful.
