On a warm summer’s evening on Saturday 18 June, the orchestra celebrated its 10th anniversary year with family and friends. It was a pleasure to welcome back original members, former conductors and audience members who have faithfully supported the orchestra over the past decade. They were treated to a rousing programme of music and enjoyed Rossini cocktails and William Tell cake in the gardens during the interval.
The concert was dedicated to the memory of violinist, Janet Tanner, who died earlier in the year. Chair of the orchestra, Anna Marsden spoke movingly about Janet’s life and her love of music. Christopher Joseph, a former colleague of Janet’s and a fellow musician, also said a few words about the orchestra and how it has developed over the years.
